FCT Taskforce Restores Sanity In Utako Market

The FCT Administration Ministerial Task Force has cleared and restored sanity in Utako Market and its adjoining areas.
The notorious and inaccessible J.J. Ogunleye Street behind Utako Market was today cleared and sanitised by the FCT Ministerial Task Force.
It was observed that some traders who operate illegaly use their vehicles to trade on the popular street and turned the road into a market Square, creating nuisance and littering the entire environment with refuse thereby making it inaccessible to motorists and those who resides within the neighbourhood.
Some miscreants also use the place as a cover to perpetrate criminal activities in the area.
All that changed today when the Ministerial Task Force stormed the area and cleared their trading materials, evacuated the huge refuse deposited in different parts of the road and trimmed all the over grown trees in the area to give the market a descent look.
The exercise by the Taskforce brought a sigh of relief to most of the traders as they could not hide their joy in appreciating the Minister for a job well done.
Some of them recalled how they lost several customers and recorded low patronage due to unorganised nature of their business environment.
They, however, appealed to FCT Minister to call on Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC management to stop allowing traders to operate behind the fence of the market as that will reduce illegal activities and ensure sanity in the area.
