To address the challenges staff face in understanding the intricacies of the Contributory Pension Scheme, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced sensitization and training for employees of the FCTA.

Director, FCT Pension Department, Rotimi Ajayi, stated this during a recent flag off of the training at the Auditorium of the Area Council Commission in Area 3, Garki I District, Abuja.

The Director said that the training became necessary after the Department identified several issues and challenges in the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme, particularly on the issue of uncredited pension deductions.

According to him, the training will help to equip staff with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex World of pension administration.

Ajayi said that the training covers a broad range of topics, from the fundamentals of pension deductions and remittances to the intricacies of reconciliation.

His words: “We believe that by providing our staff with this vital knowledge, we can work together to address the lingering challenges of implementing the new pension scheme”.

He, therefore, urged every participant at the training to use the opportunity to enhance their understanding of pension administration and assured them of the Department’s full support; adding that the training is a continuous process.

Abuja Digest reports that the training aims to equip staff across the Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDAs) of the FCTA, especially Pension Desk Officers, Heads of Salaries, Heads of Administration, and others involved in Pension Administration.
