FG Spends About ₦100b In Bwari

The Federal Government has spent almost ₦100 billion for the provision of projects, education and others in Bwari Area Council.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, disclosed this on Friday during commissioning of the 5-kilometre Gaba-Tokulo road in Bwari.
He revealed that the Gaba-Tokulo road costs not less than ₦7 billion, while rehabilitation of the entire roads from Dutse junction into Bwari cost about ₦27 billion.
According to him, all the roads in Ushafa cost not less than ₦28 billion naira, totalling ₦62.2 billion.
The Minister also stated that work on Government Girls’ Secondary School Dutse, Government Secondary School Bwari, Government Secondary School, Ushafa, which is a new one, as well as GSS Dei-Dei, GSS Kubwa, GSS Jibi, all cost about ₦27 billion.
He said: “Now, if you add ₦27 billion to ₦62 billion, you’re almost getting to ₦100 billion naira for one Area Council.
While announcing that the Council would also be given another project to extend from Tokulo to Kawu, the Minister disclosed that on-going construction of two Police stations in Bwari would be completed by May.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for giving him and the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the privilege to be part of the history-making efforts in the nation’s capital.
Wike appreciated the traditional rulers in the FCT for ensuring peace in their domains for the contractors to deliver the projects, as well as the youths for their support to the construction companies.
The Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, on her part, described the event as “a moment of great pride”.
She thanked the President for his support and direction towards the development of rural infrastructure in the FCT.
The Minister of State stated that execution of all the projects was a testament to the President’s commitment in improving the lives of the residents through enhancement of connectivity and facilitation of economic growth.
