The Management of FCT College of Education, Zuba has announced the death of its former Provost, Professor Ummah Abdulwahid.

According to a statement issued by the College’s Media Support Team, Professor Abdulwahid died in a ghastly motor accident along the Zaria–Kano Road.

Professor Abdulwahid was a distinguished academic and administrator who made significant contributions to the development of education in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.

She previously served as Deputy Director, Science and Technical Board, and Deputy Director, Schools and Higher Education at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) before she was appointed Provost of the College.

A Professor of Psychology of Education, she was widely respected for her scholarly work and dedication to advancing teacher education. Her tenure as Provost was marked by commitment to academic excellence, institutional growth, and staff development.

The College community described her death as a painful and irreparable loss, noting that her leadership and service left a lasting impact on the institution and the broader educational sector.

The statement prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant her family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
