The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Chapel, has extended warm Eid Mubarak greetings to Muslim journalists and the broader Muslim community in celebration of this year’s Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid El Kabir.

In a goodwill message signed by the Chapel Chairperson, Comrade Ngozi Ufomba, the union praised the significance of the Eid festival, describing it as a time of spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and unity.

“May Allah accept your sacrifices and bless you with joy, peace, and prosperity,” the statement read. “We pray that this sacred season strengthens your faith and fills your hearts with gratitude and love.”

The NUJ FCTA Chapel chairman called on journalists and Nigerians at large to emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, whose obedience and unwavering devotion to Allah form the foundation of the Eid al-Kabir celebration.

“As we commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, may we draw inspiration from his faith and dedication. Let us strive to uphold values of sacrifice, patience, and devotion—not just in worship, but in our service to humanity,” Ufomba stated.

The union urged members of the press to continue promoting peace, truth, and national cohesion through their reportage, especially during this season of reflection.

“Eid El Kabir is a reminder of the importance of community and collective progress. May the spirit of this celebration inspire us all to build stronger bonds, uplift one another, and remain devoted to the ideals of justice and truth,” she added.

Comrade Ufomba concluded with prayers for continued divine guidance and blessings on all Muslim families during and beyond the Eid celebrations.

“Eid Mubarak and Jummah Kareem to all our Muslim colleagues and their loved ones. May Allah shower His mercy upon you. Amin Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum,” she said.
