NUJ, FCTA Commends Director, Information and Communication

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Federal Capital Territory Administration (NUJ-FCTA) Chapel has commended the tremendous effort of the Director of Information and Communication, FCTA, Muhammad Hazat Sule, for his support for the growth and development of the Union.
The NUJ -FCTA, says the Director has demonstrated immeasurable support to the activities of the Chapel.
Chairperson FCTA-NUJ Mrs. Ngozi Ofumba, made this commendation during the Congress meeting for the end of the year 2023 with Information Officers held at the Conference Hall, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Central Business District, Abuja.
Ofumba said the Union has been receiving enormous support from the Director in various ways, especially in the area of ensuring professional development of members of the Union.
She, however, said the Union does not have an office accommodation which is a challenge she revealed that the Director Information and Communication is working assiduously to resolve.
The Union’s Chairperson also expressed her gratitude to the Director over his tremendous effort in ensuring that the Weigh-in Allowance enjoyed by all Information Officers, who are bonafide staff of FCTA and the Department.
She announced the setting up of a stakeholders and advisory Committee headed by the Director, Information and Communication, FCTA, to assist the Union in its efforts in canvassing for the welfare of members and also in discharging their responsibilities as Information Officers in the FCT Administration.
Ofumba, warned all Information Officers to desist from the habit of rejecting posting; stating that posting is a necessity in the Civil Service rule which no one has right to decline or choose where to be posted to.
She equally enjoined Information Officers to develop the habit of accepting posting irrespective of where and when one is posted to, hence the posting is part and parcel of the civil service rule.
