President Bola Tinubu has showered encomiums on Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, as he marks his 58th birthday today, December 13.
In a glowing tribute, the President lauded Wike as a top performer whose life embodies purpose, service, and unwavering courage.
He particularly commended the Minister’s audacity in breaking bureaucratic barriers, citing the recent completion of the long-stalled Apo-Karshi Road, a project trapped in limbo for 14 years before Wike’s intervention.
Parts of the statement read: “Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal capital as never seen before and proving that his moniker as ‘Mr Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers.
“I commend him for being one of the champions of our Renewed Hope Agenda, even though he belongs to another party and wish him well as he marks another year in his life journey”.
President Tinubu highlighted Wike’s transformative strides in the nation’s capital, noting that the FCT is witnessing unprecedented infrastructure development under his watch.
“He has proven that ‘Mr. Project’ isn’t just a Rivers State title,” the President remarked, referencing Wike’s legacy as a two-term governor.
The celebratory message, signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and issued, 12 December,2025, underscores Wike’s resilience and “can-do” ethos -a trait that has defined his tenure in public service.
