Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has stated that the FCT is recording significant achievements due to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Wike made the declaration while commissioning access roads in Daki-Biyu District on Tuesday, 14th October 2025.
He said: “I have always said that when you have the right leadership, you can achieve the expected results. Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has shown the right leadership.
“That is why we are able to achieve. People are talking about the achievements we have made; it is because of the right leadership. When you have the right leadership, you get things right and you get things going.”
The Minister pledged that Nigerians will witness massive project commissioning next year: “Next year, Mr. President’s third anniversary, Nigerians will see what they have never seen before.”
Urging patience, Wike assured: “We will get to the promised land. Through Mr. President, it will be a different narrative. You can see it coming.”
Recalling the area’s formerly impassable roads, the Minister said residents would be astonished by the transformation, adding that the project was flagged off last year
He also addressed his absence at the recent Council of State meeting, dismissing rumors of discontent: “The Honourable Minister of State represented the FCT. We must be careful of unnecessary propaganda and blackmail. Despite such distractions, stay focused and achieve results.”
Wike emphasized his commitment to President Tinubu’s mandate: “I work for Mr. President. His judgment prioritizes Nigeria’s progress. Deliver results, and achievements will silence critics.”
Barr. Wike also praised the contractor, a local firm, for not disappointing the administration, and thanked the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, for her strong cooperation, describing the partnership as a crucial factor in achieving results.
The Minister promised that the administration’s momentum would continue, with another 10 days of project flag-offs and commissioning planned, and assured Nigerians that the FCT would continue to serve as a showpiece for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, in her vote of thanks hailed the project as a milestone in FCT development, stating it would spur economic growth, residential expansion, and seamless transportation.
She also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to infrastructure renewal and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which she said continues to guide the provision of the best infrastructure for all Nigerians. She also thanked the FCT Minister for his unwavering support and dedication to serving the people.
In his overview of the project, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr Richard Yunana Dauda, stated that the construction of the roads was in line with the implementation of the provisions of the Abuja Master Plan.
Engr Dauda also revealed that the road project was significant because it would provide transportation infrastructure in Sector Centre B, which is a mini-business area and a hub of commercial activity, having interconnectivity with other strategic areas of the City such as Wuye, Jabi, Utako and Daki Biyu districts.
He said the commissioned road would further give access to public and private institutions such as the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, the Code of Conduct Tribunal, the Police Service Commission and the FCT High Court.
He added that facilities provided, with the internal roads, consisted of earthworks, roadworks, surface water drainage network, street lighting, water distribution network, and telecommunication ducts.
Managing Director, Isokariari Nigeria Limited, Engr Obelema Isokariari, the contractor of the project, thanked the FCT Minister and the FCT Administration for timely approvals, and for putting in place an effective management system which made it easy for contractors to work effectively and deliver within set time. He thanked the Minister for the opportunity to serve, and expressed willingness to be part of future partnerships with the FCT Administration.
