The Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura, has formally retired from the service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), bringing to an end a distinguished public service career.

Daura retired on Saturday, 24th January, 2026, upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60 years, in line with the provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR), 2021 Edition, Rule 020908 (i & ii).

Following his retirement, and in accordance with PSR 020105 on seniority, Mr. Daura officially handed over the affairs of the Department of Protocol to Mr. Abu Sarki, Deputy Director and most senior officer in the department.

Abu Sarki joined the service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration in 2001 and steadily rose through the ranks due to years of dedication and service. He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Director in the Protocol Department in 2022.

Mr. Sarki takes over from Mr. Sani Musa Daura, who assumed office as Director of Protocol in 2015 and served in that capacity until his retirement on 24th January, 2026.

Abuja Digest reports that the handover marks a smooth transition of leadership within the department, as the FCTA continues to uphold established public service rules and administrative continuity.
