RAMADAN: FEMD, NEAR FOUNDATION TO FEED 300 VULNERABLE HOUSEHOLDS IN THE FCT

As part of its Ramadan outreach to ease the burden on the poor, the FCT Emergency Management Department, FEMD, and the NEAR Foundation, a non-governmental organization, are to distribute 11 kilograms worth of food packages to 300 households made vulnerable due to disasters in the Territory.
The Director, NEAR Foundation, Mr Abdul Hakem Salaudeen, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to FEMD.
Abdul Hakem further stated that over four thousand other vulnerable groups in the FCT would also be reached during the Ramadan outreach.
According to AbdulHakem, the outreach is intended to show empathy to the poor and ensure that they have meals during Ramadan.
” The tradition of NEAR Foundation is to visit our stakeholders to see how we can partner more in terms of programmes and shared values”. He said.
Responding to the Ag Director General of FEMD, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed assured his commitment to continued collaboration with NEAR Foundation.
Abdulrahman urged public-spirited Nigerians to emulate the NEAR Foundation by assisting the less privileged.
