The staff of the Treasury and Budget in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have been charged to be dedicated to their duties and always stick to the extant rules, which the Administration is known for.

The Permanent Secretary, Treasury and Budget, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr. Adamu Ibrahim Wanki, gave this charge, while receiving the Managing Director of Leverage Integrated Business Consult, Mr. Salawu Zubairu, that paid him a working visit in his office at Area 11, Garki I District, Abuja, Tuesday.

The Permanent Secretary said that the charge is necessary to remind Accountants and Account Officers across the Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDAs) of the FCTA on why they must follow the laid-down guidelines by the Government, whilst discharging their professional duties.

Wanki decried that more harm is done to the system when professionals flout the guidelines, especially while providing services to aid the use of the scarce resources available to the government.

He explained that while the Private sector plays a complementary role, the professionals within the government should learn to abide by the financial regulations, guidelines and Public Service Rules (PSR) for effective service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary noted that by following the laid down principles of their profession, naturally, the staff will operate with high sense of confidence and integrity to justify their actions without fear, even after retirement from service.

He emphasized that the FCT Administration is committed to infrastructural development across the 8,000 Square kilometers of the FCT, and, therefore, enjoined the staff to eschew non-chalant attitudes towards financial regulations but to embrace proper financial management to ensure rapid development in the nation’s capital.

Wanki reiterated that the success of the FCT Administration is certain, if the government’s financial policies are properly followed without any form of compromise from either internal or external factors; adding that following the government’s financial guidelines is a sure bet for administrative success.

The Permanent Secretary called on the staff to support the Barrister Nyesom Wike’s led Administration in the FCTA which by extension is supporting the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said that the massive infrastructural development being witnessed in the FCTA by Wike was achieved due to effective financial management ofgovernment’s scarce resources.

Speaking earlier, the MD, Leverage Integrated Business Consult, Salawu Zubairu, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and his kind words.

He assured the Permanent Secretary of his willingness to collaborate and support the FCT Administration.

Zubairu paid tribute to the FCT Minister, NyesomWike, for thinking out of the box to have achieved the transformation, especially the infrastructural development of the FCT, thereby, making Abuja a World-Class City as envisaged by its founding fathers.
