Group Commends Tinubu, Akume Over Shaakaa’s Appointment As AG. ….says choice best for nation’s unity

A social-cultural group, Shitile Integrity Group (SIG), an association of all Shitile Sons Worldwide has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing their kinsman, Mr.Kenyitor Chira Shaakaa, as the Auditor General of the Federation (AuGF).

The group
expressed joy and satisfaction that Tinibu chose merit above parochial interest in the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa .

In a statement signed by the President, Hon. Ben Ukeji, and the Secretary, Alfred Shimbayev, and made available to Abuja Digest Newspaper, SIG also appreciated the efforts of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen George Akume for his immense contributions towards the development of the Tiv nation.

Mr. Shaakaa whose appointment was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday, holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Public Sector Accounting and a Master in Business Administration (MBA).

He hails from Donga Local Government Area of Taraba state.

The Shitile Integrity Group described the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa as one of the best things to have happened to the Shitile nation; saying they are grateful to the President for the honor done to them.

“Again, President Tinubu has displayed his unbiasedness and detribalized nature in selecting those who will help him in effectively steering the affairs of this country.

“President Tinubu will always succeed because he always searches for the most qualified, to get results when it comes to appointment -a thing he started even when he was governor of Lagos state.
“Shaakaa”s appointment is, therefore, a product of his hard work, experience, and competence.”

“We SIG are aware that the President approved Chira’s appointment after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) conducted a screening exercise that identified him as the most qualified candidate who also scored the highest marks in the examination conducted, among all qualified candidates for the office,” the statement states.

“Therefore, we are very confident to say Nigerians will ripe the benefits of this appointment because Shaakaa is eminently qualified and has a track record of success throughout his public career spanning over two decades,” it stressed.

“We, as members of the Shitile Integrity Group, shall support and solidly stand behind the new appointee (Chira) to enable him to succeed,” the statement added.

“It is said, to whom much is given, much is expected. The Shitile Integrity Group, therefore, urged the new Auditor General of the Federation to justify the confidence which the President has in him, by working towards the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu Administration”. Hon Ukeji said.

Shaakaa , a trained AFROSAI-E Performance Auditor, is a Fellow, of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria – FCNA, a Member, of the Computer Forensics Institute Nigeria – MCFI and a Member Chartered Institute of Taxation ACTI.

The group also thanked the leadership of the Senate for the prompt confirmation of Shaakaa as the substantive Auditor General of the Federation.

He took over as the Auditor-General of the Federation following the retirement of Mr. Adolphus Aghughu.
