FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has said that his administration would not rest until world class infrastructure is provided and Abuja districts connected by standard roads.

Wike made this declaration, while flagging off construction of Arterial Road N11, connecting Mabushi and Katampe Districts, and providing access from Mabushi into Judges’ Quarters.

Stressing that provision of good roads was one of the things that made a city clean, the Minister added that the project would also open up the Districts for development and increased economic activities.

He assured the contractor handling the project of prompt payment; urging him to ensure completion of the work in May, 2025.

“We will make sure we are not going to owe you…..as soon as you submit your certificates, we will pay you,” Wike assured.

The Minister pledged that the current administration would complete every project it awards; saying: “Every project we have awarded, we will complete. We are not going to leave any project for other governments. There is no room for variation and abadonement of projects under my watch.”

According to him, contractors handling all FCTA projects have been given confidence, which makes them move to site even before mobilization funds are provided, because they are sure they would be paid.

Reiterating insistence on the provision of infrastructure across the Territory, the Minister revealed that President Bola Tinubu has directed him to ensure provision of standard infrastructure in existing Districts before creating new ones.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Acting Head of FCT Civil Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, expressed profound gratitude to God and Tinubu for giving the FCT a man like Wike.

She hailed the FCT Minister for recording landmark achievements in the FCT within a short period of time; pledging the continued loyalty and commitment of the Service to the vision of the FCT under Wike and the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud.
