FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has advocated for innovative strategies in the process of the mobilization of Corps Members across the country.
Accordingly, such proactive innovations will reduce some of the challenges being faced.
This, no doubt, will enhance best practices for the engagement of the young graduates to foster National Development efforts.
The Minister gave this challenge Thursday in Abuja, at the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop.
Wike expressed great delight knowing that the scheme is focused on enhancing the efficiency of it’s operation, through the adoption of technology-driven approaches in data collation and processing for Mobilization and Deployment purposes, as the process, he said will in no small measure contribute to halting any proposed fraudulent sharp practices.
The Minister, who was represented at the event by the Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat & Chairman FCT NYSC Governing Board, Ibrahim Aminu, commended the decision of the National Youth Seevice Corps (NYSC) for periodically bringing Students Affairs Officers of institutions and the NYSC Deployment and Relocation Officers from across the 36 States of the federation and the FCT respectively,
and other critical stake holders on the possible best strategies that will greatly yield beneficial success.
He said that the workshop theme “Unlocking Innovative Solutions to the Challenges of the Mobilization Process,” significantly aligns with the contemporary global best practices for achieving results, hence it is apt and timely.
The Minister stated that he was comfortable with the workshop knowing that unlocking innovative solutions will pave way for a more responsive, efficient and impactful National Youth Service Corps.
Wike expressed profound appreciation to the Corps Members, especially those deployed to the FCT, in key sectors such as Health and Education for their enormous contributions so far; adding, “we sincerely appreciate their efforts and on our part, we we will continue to accord priority to the Welfare and Security of our Corps members”.
While tasking the participants to come out with far reaching innovations to drive the mobilization process, he encouraged them to endeavor to take out time off the workshop, to visit amazing tourist sites in Abuja, to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the fastest growing Nation’s Capital City in Africa.
Speaking earlier, the Director-General of NYSC, Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the robust encouragement and support the scheme has continued to receive from him.
