WIKE APPOINTS SANI DAURA SSA ON PROTOCOL MATTERS

In a strategic move to bolster the administrative framework of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of Mr. Sani Musa Daura as his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Protocol Matters.
The appointment, made public on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, through a statement signed by the Minister’s SSA on Public Communications and social media, Lere Olayinka, highlights Daura’s three decades of unbroken service in the FCT Administration’s Protocol Department.
A veteran bureaucrat, the statement revealed Daura rose through the ranks to become Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, a role he has held with distinction.
His appointment takes effect immediately after he retires from service on January 24, 2026, to ensure a seamless transition of institutional expertise.
It described Daura as a “seasoned professional” whose wealth of experience will enhance the efficiency of the Minister’s office in handling high-profile diplomatic and governmental engagements.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to leveraging top-tier talent to advance the FCT’s governance agenda, noting that Daura’s appointment aligns with his vision for a “competent and proactive” administrative team.
The statement expressed confidence that Daura’s deep-rooted knowledge of protocol dynamics will further strengthen Abuja’s position as Nigeria’s administrative nerve center.
