WIKE ORDERS DEPLOYMENT OF SECURITY MEN TO DAMAGED KUGBO BUS TERMINAL

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has ordered immediate deployment of security personnel to safeguard Kugbo bus terminal.

This is as the newly completed facility has been partially damaged by windstorm during heavy rainfall on Monday, 7 April 2026, blowing away portions of the terminal’s roof.

A press release issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and social media, Lere Olayinka, has disclosed.

According to the statement, preliminary reports have confirmed the storm also inflicted minor damage to the Nyanya pedestrian bridge and nearby buildings.

The press release reads in part: “Fortunately, no injuries or vehicle damage were recorded.

“To ensure public safety and traffic flow, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has ordered immediate security deployment to the site. Repairs to the affected infrastructure are set to commence without delay.”
