Arguing for the necessity to provide infrastructure, the Minister stated that if such infrastructure had already been provided, the administration would have channeled the energy and resources into other areas.
Wike, however, acknowledged that though things may be tough, but with the President’s commitment and leadership, things were being out on the right track, and improving.
“Mr. President has shown leadership, commitment. It may not be as expected, but we’re moving forward. The way Abuja was yesterday, it’s not the same today, and it will not be so tomorrow, “he assured
Calling on the residents to support President Tinubu and the FCT Administration, and exercise patience, the Minister revealed that part of the support also involved the residents playing their parts, particularly payment of all forms of taxes.
“You too should pay us what you are owing us. All these won’t be possible if you don’t pay your taxes, so try and pay your taxes”.
Acting Head of FCT Civil Service, Mrs. Nancy Nathan, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to witness the event.
She also thanked the President for his visionary leadership, and the FCT Minister, for ensuring that the “Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President is brought closer to the people”.
Mrs. Nathan stated that the project would ease transportation and connectivity, providing access to the location, concluding that it would also contribute positively to the development of the FCT.
The Acting Head of Service reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to carrying out it’s mandate of ensuring socio-economic development of the FCT.
Acting Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Dauda, while providing overview of the project, disclosed that the project approved by the Federal Executive Council and awarded to Messrs Global Spectrum Energy Services Limited in August 2025, would be completed in 14 months.
