YULETIDE: FCT POLICE COMMAND ASSURES RESIDENTS OF SAFETY

The FCT Commissioner Of Police, CP Babaji Sunday, has assured that the Command has put all arrangements on grounds to ensure a safe Yuletide season.

The Commissioner said the Command will do everything within its power to maintain the existing peace and tranquility before, during and after the celebrations.

Sunday, thus, called on residents of the Territory to promptly report any suspicious activities in their neighborhood through the emergency lines that has been made available by the Command.

This was contained in a statement signed by The PRO FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, who said the FCT Police Command has deployed personnel and logistics in their thousands across the nooks and cranies of The Federal Capital Territory so as to ensure the the safety of lives and properties during the festive season and beyond.

According to the statement, the Commissioner has charged Senior Officers from all Units and Formations of The Command to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the discharge of their duties; especially as it regards fundamental human rights of citizens in line with global practices.

The statement added, “the deployment consists of all intelligence and tactical assets at the Command’s disposal and inter – agency collaboration with Sister law enforcement agencies is to ensure that crimes and criminality is nipped in the bud.”

The deployment is characterized by the strengthened Police- Community relationship towards intelligence gathering, Stop and Search,Highways and border patrol, etc” the statement further emphasized.

“The FCT Police Command wishes to assure FCT residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment in ensuring safety during the festive period and urges residents to embrace peace and be vigilant,” the statement reiterated.
