2023 HAJJ: FCT Intending Pilgrims To Pay N2.9M As Hajj Fare

Intending Pilgrims, who have made deposit for the forthcoming Hajj with the Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, have till Friday 21st April to complete their payment of Hajj fare as announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) of Two Million, Nine Hundred and Nineteen Thousand Naira (N2,919,000.00) only.

The Director, FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abubakar Adamu Evuti, who gave this instruction, said the deadline was to enable the Board meet up with the deadline set by NAHCON to all States and FCT in respect of payment of Hajj fare for this year.

Accordingly, payment of the balance by respective Intending Pilgrims that made deposit with the Board would facilitate the establishment of prospective master list of intending Pilgrims for the trip, considering the time frame for the airlift of the Intending Pilgrims to the holy land.

Evuti, said that balancing of the required amount would also enable the Board continue with other travelling arrangements as well as meet up with the deadline for the balance of payment to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He also said that only Intending Pilgrims, who complete payment of Two Million, Nine Hundred and Nineteen Thousand Naira by the deadline would be registered in the master list of the Board for this years Hajj exercise.

His words: “Upon completion, intending Pilgrims would be given the chance to choose the flight they intend to join during the airlift to Saudi Arabia on first-come-first-served basis.”

“Activities for this year’s Hajj exercise would resume after fasting of the month of Ramadan on Saturday 29th April and Sunday 30th April 2023 with second phase of the education and Orientation exercise at the Permanent Hajj Transit camp, Bassan Jiwa near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja,” he added.
