Falconets of Nigeria lost the African Games title to host Ghana at a packed Cape Coast Stadium.

Ghana came from a goal down to win 2-1 to be crowned Gold medalists in the women’s football event of the pan-African Games.

Nigeria’s opener came when Loveth Edeh profited from a goalkeeper’s blunder in the 23rd minute to take the lead.

However, Ghana Black Princesses drew level in the 78th minute through Tracy Twum to make up for her numerous misses.

The medal-defining goal was netted in the 99th minute through Mukarama Abdullai.

It was a superb goal as she fired home from the edge of the box beyond the Nigerian goalkeeper to the delight of the home fans.

Ghana thus regained the African Games Gold they won in 2015.

Both countries will be locked in another battle for supremacy later today in Marrakesh, Morocco, when the Black Stars take on the Super Eagles in a friendly.
