CHELSEA CROWNED KINGS OF EUROPE WITH RARE UEFA HONOUR

Chelsea have made history again as UEFA handed them a special award for being the only club to win every European trophy.
The honour was presented just before the Champions League draw and it marks a clean sweep no other team has ever achieved.
Chelsea has lifted the Champions League, the Europa League and, most recently, the Conference League. And when you add the Super Cup, the old Cup Winners Cup and even the UEFA Youth League, the collection is unmatched.
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin gave out the award and admitted it was something he may never see again. He said winning every competition was almost impossible and he doubted another club would manage it any time soon.
Chelsea president and chief operating officer Jason Gannon stepped forward to receive the award. He called it beautiful and said the past few years have been an exciting ride for the club. He thanked UEFA and spoke on behalf of the players, staff, board and fans who have carried Chelsea through more than 120 years of football.
Gannon also reminded everyone of last season’s Conference League triumph, which gave Chelsea’s young squad valuable European experience. And he made it clear the club’s eyes are now fixed on the future.
“Bringing Champions League football back to Stamford Bridge will be an honour,” he said, “and it is going to be something very special.”
