D’Tigers Qualify For 2025 Afrobasket with Win Over Cape Verde

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, secured their spot in the 2025 Afrobasket after defeating Cape Verde 77-62 in their final Group B qualifier.
Cape Verde started strong, winning the first quarter 26-22. However, Nigeria dominated the second quarter with a 26-7 run, taking a 15-point lead into halftime.
Despite Cape Verde’s 21-13 third-quarter comeback, D’Tigers sealed the win with a 16-8 fourth-quarter advantage.
Caleb Agada shone with 29 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, leading Nigeria to victory.
The win moves Nigeria to second in their group. Earlier qualifier wins included a 75-70 victory over Libya and an 87-67 triumph against Uganda.
Having won all their second-window games, D’Tigers are now set for the 2025 Afrobasket.
