FCT-ERC Organizes Sports Competition For Staff To Keep Fit

To maintain mental and physical fitness, promote healthy living and boost productivity, the Education Resource Centre in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT-ERC) is organizing sports competition for its staff.
Accordingly, the sports competition is in realization of the relevance of physical fitness in boosting productivity and efficiency in service delivery.
The Director of ERC, Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim, who stated this during an exclusive interview with Abuja Digest Newspaper, said the Centre has more plans in the offing to improve service delivery, because the potentials are high.
“The ERC about three years ago initiated this in-house sport activities for the unity of the staff but it is also geared towards enhancing effectiveness of staff in their daily performance,” Abdulrahim stressed.
The Director, who revealed that this programme was first initiated by the Centre as weekly activities, holding every Thursdays from 8:30am to 10am, has indeed evolved to include an annual prizes-giving and awards ceremony for all divisions and individuals efforts.
Abdulrahim succinctly stated that, the Houses have been named after the past Directors of the Centre, which will be used as a means of identification during the competition.
She said these Houses to includes: Prof. Ismaila Tsiga House (Blue); Mrs. Alu Rebecca Uganden House (Purple); Emmanuel Aina House (Brown); Ramatu Awwal Ibrahim House (Orange) and Olufunke Olorunlona House (Green) respectively.
She further revealed that this years competition scheduled for Thursday, 24th October, 2024; expects all staff to gather in their vibrant and colourful House attire for the competition.
The Director said that the competition will feature many sporting activities, which includes: Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Draft, Ludo, Chess, Scrabble and WHOT.
