FCT To Reward Outstanding Athletes

Athletes who represented the FCT and distinguished them at National competitions are set to be rewarded as the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has approved for awards to be given to them.

Those to receive awards are athletes who won medals at the 2022 National Sports Festival as well as the 2023 and 2024 National Youth Games.

The Director, FCT Sports Department, Luka Istifanus expressed appreciation to the Minister and Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmood, who have deemed it fit for these athletes to be rewarded for their impressive performances.

He said the gesture would boost the morale of the athletes to perform better in subsequent Championships.

The awards ceremony is expected to hold at the Community Hall, Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture, Area 10, on the 16th of January, 2025.
