FOLASHADE OLUWAFEMIAYO BREAKS WORLD RECORD AGAIN, WINS GOLD FOR NIGERIA

Nigeria’s para powerlifting star, Folashade Oluwafemiayo, has once again made the country proud as she broke the world record in the women’s 86kg category at the World Powerlifting Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
The two-time Paralympic and three-time champion, was amazing on the bench as she convincingly improved her own world record at 168 kg.
The 40-year-old held the world record from Paris 2024 when she took the gold with an effort of 167 kg one year ago in women’s over 86kg.
Starting her campaign in Cairo at 155 kg, she gradually improved to 160 kg, 165 kg and then the big lift. But it seemed easy for the Nigerian as she raised the bar yet gain.
This latest victory gives Oluwafemiayo her fourth World Championship title, and it adds to her two Paralympic gold medals. She continues to prove that she is one of the best in the world, and her story inspires many athletes and fans who admire her determination and discipline.
Her success in Cairo also highlights Nigeria’s growing reputation as a world power in powerlifting, as the country keeps producing top athletes who perform well at international competitions.
At 38 years old, Oluwafemiayo has shown that age is no barrier to excellence, and she keeps reminding everyone that limits are meant to be broken. She has made history once again, and she does not look like she will stop anytime soon.
