Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropped two places in the latest FIFA ranking, released by the world football governing body.
The Super Eagles were ranked 28th in the world in the February ranking but dropped to 30th in the ranking released on April 4, 2024, following the team’s mixed results in last month’s international break.
Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in Finidi George’s first game as interim manager before losing 2-0 to the Eagles of Mali a few days later.
They are however ahead of countries like Norway (47th), Egypt (37th) and co-host of the next World Cup Canada (49th).
Also, despite dropping two spots, Nigeria remain third on the African continent behind Morocco (13th) and Senegal (17th).
Egypt (37th), Cote d’Ivoire (38th) and Tunisia (41st) round up the rest of the top five on the African continent.
Meanwhile, world champions Argentina remain the number one ranked nation, followed by France, Belgium, England and Brazil.
