Paris Olympics: NOC Names Tobi Amusan As Flag bearer

Tobi Amusan has been named the nation’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) announced.
The NOC also appointed Anuoluwapo Opeyori as the General Team Captain.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of NOC, Tony Nezianya.
Amusan is the world record holder in the 100m hurdles while Opeyori is an experienced badminton player who has been representing Nigeria since 2017.
According to Nezianya Amusan is one of Nigeria’s brightest medal prospects in Paris, while Opeyori as the General Team Captain would be a position to in provide leadership and guidance to the team.
“The decision to appoint Amusan and Opeyori to these prestigious positions reflects the high expectations the country has for its athletes at the upcoming Olympic Games”, Nezianya said.
The 2024 Olympic Games will officially kick-off in Paris on Friday.
