Super Falcons Qualify For Olympics After Draw With South Africa

Nigeria have qualified for the Paris Olympics after holding South Africa to a goalless draw in Pretoria.
The Super Falcons progressed to the Olympic Games in France in July and August with a 1-0 aggregate score in the fourth-round clash after they narrowly beat Banyana at the Miko Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday.
Rasheedat Ajibade scored from the spot in the first leg of the qualifiers in Abuja on Friday.
The last time Nigeria’s Super Falcons reached the Olympics was 16 years ago.
Nigeria has been grouped with world champions Spain, former champions Japan and Brazil in Group C at the Olympics.
The Super Falcons first match is against Brazil on the 25th July in Bordeaux.
Meanwhile Zambia joined Nigeria as the second African team at the 2024 Olympic Women’s football tournament.
