Real Madrid, the record 14-time European champions, also have three wins out of three in Group C after Rodrygo and Bellingham scored in a 2-1 victory over Braga in Portugal.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti was taking charge of his 200th game in the competition and he saw Rodrygo open the scoring on 16 minutes before Bellingham fired in just past the hour mark.

It was the England midfielder’s third goal in as many Champions League games for his new club, and his 11th in 12 matches altogether since signing from Borussia Dortmund.

Alvaro Djalo pulled one back for Braga, but Real can secure qualification for the last 16 when they host the Portuguese side next.

In Germany, Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori scored a second half goal to secure a 1-0 victory at Union Berlin in their Champions League Group C match on Tuesday and stretch their opponents’ losing run to nine straight games in all competitions.

In a match that had few highlights, the Germans enjoyed the better chances in the first half but it was a run by Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia down the left that decided the game as he set up Raspadori to fire home the winner in the 65th minute.

Napoli without injured striker Victor Osimhen, struggled to break through a solid backline until the Germans presented them a scoring chance when they repeatedly failed to clear the ball which led to the goal.

The result kept Napoli in second place on six points, three behind Real Madrid who won 2-1 at Sporting Braga.

Braga are on three while struggling Union are still without a point in their first season in the competition.
