FCT SDS CELEBRATES 2025 SERVICOM CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK CELEBRATION
…Recognise exceptional staff

The Mandate Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat, Hon. Ibrahim Aminu, has called on the Secretariat’s Staff to deepen their commitment to providing exceptional services to the Federal Capital Territory Administration, regardless of position or status.
Speaking at the 2025, SDS Customer Service Week celebration in Abuja, Hon. Aminu, represented by the Permanent Secretary, SDS, Olubunmi Olowookere, emphasised the importance of recognising and rewarding employees whose outstanding contributions have significantly improved on the mandate and vision of the Secretariat and indeed, the FCT Administration.
He commended the Hon. Minister of the FCT, Bar. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike’s commitment to transform effective service delivery across all Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDA’S) through the Establishment of FCT Civil Service Commission.
Speaking further, the Mandate Secretary asserted that “the Secretariat must see Customer Service Week as a call to action, to innovate, digitalise, and humanise service delivery. “
On the theme, “Mission Possible” he said it aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration, which prioritizes citizen welfare, inclusive growth and institutional efficiency;
nothing that the theme is both inspiring and instructive, challenging Staff to move beyond excuses and limitations to embrace a mindset of possibilities”.
Continuing, he said “In the public sector, customer service translates to citizen satisfaction, every file we process, every person we attend to, every welfare service we deliver, are moments of truth that define government’s image in the eyes of the people”.
“At the Social Development Secretariat, we are committed to providing quality services that meet the needs of our customers. We believe that every interaction with our customers is an opportunity to build trust, confidence, and lasting relationships. “
He further urged staff to do their work with transparency, competence, dignity, patience and excellence; to continue to provide excellent services to our numerous customers while enjoining customers to continue to patronize the Secretariat.
Speaking earlier, the Head of SERVICOM unit, SDS, Hafsat Mahmud Mazila, emphasised the importance of celebrating staff, stating, that it boosts the morale of staff and encourages hard work.
She called on all the Department and Units of the Secretariat to learn to get feedback from staff of the department and the customers they are rendering services, that way they will be able to re-evaluate their processes and adjust accordingly.
Hasfat mentioned that staff who have demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm to Customers’ Satisfaction are regularly recognised so as to encourage them and others to keep working diligently.
In her goodwill message, Mrs Lucy Zack Ukoh from National SERVICOM Office, spoke on the importance of celebrating frontline staff and boosting morale within government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“It is time to celebrate our front liners who sacrifice to bring services to everyone and helps to connect with the people,” she said.
On the theme, “Mission Possible,” she posits that it reflects the Administration’s Commitment to honouring hard work and dedication – “By Celebrating our workforce. Under the renewed hope agenda, President Tinubu’s administration is setting a benchmark for exceptional customer service. Every effort to exceed expectations contributes to a better, more positive experience for everyone involved.”
Presenting his goodwill message, the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Treasury & Budget, and Director Funds FCTA, Dr Idris Arris, said celebrating those who consistently go above in service delivery fosters a culture of recognition and appreciation. It motivates employees to continue striving for excellence and sets a standard for others to follow.
According to him, the Customer Service Week celebration in the FCT Administration has set a high standard for recognizing and rewarding the exceptional efforts of the workforce, reinforcing the importance of quality service delivery in national development
Highlight of the event was the presentation of Awards to deserving Staff, which include the Award of Excellence presented to the Mandate Secretary, SDS, Hon.Ibrahim Aminu, Award of Innovation and Creativity was presented to the Permanent Secretary, SDS, Olubunmi Olowookere and the Award For Effective Service Delivery presented to the Head of Media/ Public Relations, SDS, Shaka Sunday, Head, CPO – Ashafa Hassan and Head of HIV Unit, Dr Okoro Chinemerem amongst several others.
