FCTA Staff Cooperative Society Introduces Digital Account System

To ensure transparency, accountability and stress free transactions in all cooperative remittances, the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society has introduced Digital Account System.
The President of the FCTA Staff Multi-purpose Cooperative Society, Mr. Emmanuel Abenu, revealed this while addressing the members and stakeholders of the cooperative Society during the 15th and 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 20th Anniversary held at Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts & Culture, Area 10 Garki, Abuja.
Abenu said that the introduction of the Digital Account system is aimed at bridging the gap between analogue or traditional accounting system and the modern or digital account system, thereby; assuring the members of transparency in every transaction.
The President reiterated that, the digitalization of the account system, will among others help to increase or reduce monthly contribution, apply for loan, check account balance, receive prompt and monthly alert, update personal data and as well as change password.
He emphasized that the introduction of the Digital Account System is also assist in reducing the effect of economic hardship experienced in the country at the moment; adding that members can now sit in their comfort zones and perform some functions by themselves without visiting the Cooperative Office for complaints as it used to be in the era of traditionalism.
Abenu, while assuring the members of the safety of their Savings, said the management commitment is built solidly in ensuring the safety of the saving of her members and to ensure prompt payment of every entitlement of the members of the Cooperative.
His words: “I wish to state that the management commitment is built solidly in ensuring safety of our savings. I can boldly affirm that the Cooperative is not owing any individual or organization. For instance, all members who retired as at January 2024 have been fully paid off and this is the legacy we are leaving behind.”
Abenu, however, warned members of the Cooperative against applying for loan without allowing the previous loan collected to liquidate before applying for another; adding that members of the Cooperative should bite what they can chew and live within their means.
Speaking on the 20th Anniversary of the FCTA Staff Cooperative Society that was also celebrated at the AGM, Abenu disclosed that the Cooperative has existed by member’s loyalty and patronage in which this is why some members must be recognized by presenting them with an award.
In recognition of some of the members of the Cooperative for their outstanding contributions for the development of the organization, the Vice President of the Cooperative who was one of the awardees, Mr Emmanuel Tortiv, said the award was presented to those that deserves them due to their positive impact for the growth of the Union.
