The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is assiduously working to resolve the contentions over the succession rites of the Sa’karuyi of Karu.
The Secretary, FCT Area Councils Services Secretariat (ACSS), Bitrus Lawrence Garki, made this disclosure after a closed door meeting with some of elders of Karu Chiefdom in his office.
The Secretary said that the FCT Administration under the leadership of Barrister Nyesom Wike and Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, will carefully and critically examine the turns of accounts and recommendations made in respect to the Traditional Stool of Karu to rest all grey areas.
While emphasizing the significance of the Traditional Institutions in partnership and collaboration in policies implementation of the government especially at the grassroots, Garki said the Administration will do everything possible to iron out all the issues thereby giving all interested parties a sense of belonging.
He commended the commitment of the elders to the ongoing talks; urging them to remain peaceful.
The Secretary stated that no stone will be left unturned to ensure that the stool will not be left vacant for long; adding, “the right successor will emerge to occupy it in no distant time”.
