FCTA LEAD-P BENEFICIARIES CONTINUE TO GIVE BACK, TRAIN OVER 140 FCTA STAFF ON CBT EXAMINATION

Beneficiaries of the Leadership Empowerment and Development Programme (LEAD-P), under the umbrella of the Elevation Team, have continued to give back by voluntarily training over 140 staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to build the skills and confidence needed to excel in the October 2026 Computer-Based Test (CBT) promotion examination.
The Elevation team, which comprises volunteer staff of the FCTA who have come together to train and equip FCTA staff with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to navigate the CBT platform effectively and approach the promotion examination with greater confidence.
The team on Thursday, September 24, 2026, concluded the fifth edition of its Hands-On CBT Training at GSS Area 10, Abuja, providing participants with practical experience designed to prepare them for the computer-based promotion examination.
Speaking at the training, team lead of the Elevation Team, Ogechi Daniel-Isiocha, said the decision to organise the practical session was informed by the challenges some staff encounter when taking computer-based examinations and the need to help participants become familiar with the CBT platform before the actual examination.
She explained that the initiative was part of the team’s commitment to giving back by using the knowledge and experience acquired through the LEAD-P programme to support other FCTA staff.
According to her, the physical training was particularly important because it gave participants hands-on experience with the CBT system, enabling them to practice the examination process rather than relying solely on theoretical preparation.
Daniel-Isiocha noted that participants were able to familiarise themselves with the examination interface, practice navigating the system, and improve their confidence ahead of the October examination.
The training featured the installation of the Civis Elevation CBT App on participants’ laptops, allowing them to practice under conditions similar to those they would encounter during the actual examination. The practical exercise focused on system navigation, time management, and general CBT readiness.
The facilitators also took participants through key examination areas, including Public Service Rules (PSR), Financial Regulations, time and anxiety management, among others.
Another facilitator, Chinonso Chiadi, spoke on examination expectations, common mistakes candidates should avoid, and the importance of managing anxiety during the examination. He stressed the need for candidates to combine knowledge of the examination content with the ability to navigate the CBT platform confidently.
In his words: “Training 5.0 (fifth edition of the programme) bridges the gap between knowing the content and navigating the computer screen.”
The programme also attracted commendation from participants, including senior officers in the Directorate Cadre, who expressed appreciation to the Elevation Team for voluntarily providing the practical support and described the session as useful in preparing them for the forthcoming examination.
The latest training follows an earlier CBT preparation programme organised by the Elevation Team in June 2026 ahead of the July promotion examinations. The team has also been conducting virtual classes and Saturday mock tests as part of its broader preparation for FCTA promotion examinations.
The next batch of the FCTA CBT promotion examination is scheduled for October 2026.
