Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has announced that the Federal Capital Territory Administration will absorb 50 percent of the total cost incurred in the construction of the pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Dunamis International Gospel Centre along the Airport Road in Abuja.

Speaking during the commissioning of the bridge at the church headquarters on Friday, 30 October, 2026, Wike commended the leadership of the ministry, under Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, for demonstrating exemplary civic leadership and corporate social responsibility through the execution of critical public infrastructure.

The Minister explained that while the project was conceived and initiated by the church, public infrastructure serving thousands of residents ultimately falls within the purview of government.

He stated that government partnership with non-state actors remains vital, as no administration anywhere in the world can single-handedly address every societal and infrastructural requirement without public-spirited interventions.

Recalling the regulatory background of the infrastructure, Wike revealed that the original application for approval was submitted by the church leadership in 2018 under previous administrative dispensations.

He noted that upon being reminded of the pending request in February 2024, his administration immediately processed and granted the formal approval within one month to enable the seamless execution of the life-saving project.

Addressing the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr. Richard Dauda, who was present at the event, Wike directed immediate collaboration with the church authorities to get   the total financial expenditure of the construction.

He affirmed that the FCTA would promptly release 50 percent of the verified expenditure to lighten the financial burden on the religious institution, allowing them to redirect resources toward other welfare and developmental programs.

The Minister cautioned residents against hazardous traffic behaviors, particularly the dangerous practice of dashing across the busy ten-lane expressway instead of using the newly provided pedestrian bridge.

He emphasized that strict law enforcement measures and task force deployments would remain active to enforce compliance, ensuring that human lives are safeguarded and public order is maintained across the capital city.

Earlier, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Church, Dr. Paul Enenche, emphasized that true divine service is defined by love, sacrifice, and tangible contributions to humanity rather than the accumulation of wealth.

The cleric stated that love is fundamentally about giving and serving as the direct opposite of selfishness and greed. He noted that while greed focuses heavily on intake, acquisition, and accumulation, divine love manifests through positive community impact and the distribution of resources to uplift society.

Dr. Enenche explained that humanity is remembered in both time and eternity not by personal possessions, but by the tangible problems solved during earthly existence.

Drawing from scriptural principles, he stressed that individuals make a living through what they receive, but truly make a lasting difference through their actions and contributions.

He reminded them that no one takes material wealth, houses, or cars to the grave, making a lasting societal impact far superior to mere income generation, noting that future generations will evaluate leaders and citizens alike based on the lives they lived and the challenges they addressed.

He observed that while some individuals will be remembered for solving critical societal problems, others may be judged by the difficulties they failed to resolve or caused. According to him, every individual leaves behind a lasting historical footprint that speaks volumes long after they have departed.

Addressing the ultimate accountability of mankind, Dr. Enenche reminded attendees that every person must eventually stand before an uninfluential and unmanipulatable God to render an account of their earthly stewardship.

The spiritual leader asserted that accountability applies universally to all strata of society, sparing neither religious leaders, church workers, politicians, governors, senators, nor presidents. Every individual will ultimately face divine judgment regarding how they utilized the positions and opportunities entrusted to them.
