Bello pledges speedy completion of Abaji water project

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday, February 4, 2019 received the decamping former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Yunusa Suleiman also known as Y.Y.    Receiving the decamping chairman, the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, stated that by his action, Alh. Abdulahi was simply returning home, as APC, he noted, is the party for Abuja. 

The Minister who made this declaration in continuation of the APC campaign tour of the FCT South, stated that the current APC Administration of FCT is poised to complete the Abaji Water Works in six weeks’ time. He also gave assurances that all hindrances to the take-off of the Abuja University of Technology, Abaji (AUTA) have been removed and that what remains now is the admission processes and minor logistics issues. He also promised the Abaji monarch, Alh. Baba Yunusa, that the Administration is set to extend the erosion control work in the town further inland to effectively stem the recurrence of the gully erosion that had afflicted the area over the years. 

In Gwargwada and Rubochi the Minister reiterated the commitment of his Administration to the completion of the Abaji – Rubochi – Gwargwada Road Reconstruction project being undertaken by the Satellite Town Development Department (STDD). He said that this was necessary because of the strategic importance of the road for the transportation of agriculture material and access to the city for the rural inhabitants.

In all the places, the campaign team addressed rallies and paid homage to the traditional rulers of the various chiefdoms. The FCT Minister also relayed the goodwill of President Muhammadu Buhari to the host of party supporters. He conveyed Mr President’s appeal for their support and pledge to redouble his efforts to ensure that Nigeria witnessed a higher level of development in the second tenure and to ensure that corruption, in its entirety, was flushed out of the country.

The campaign tour which took the team to Gwargwada, Rubochi, Abaji and Kwali provided occasion for the presentation of the various candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and Council Chairmanship to the electorate. The candidates included Hon. Abdulahi Ajiya, a second term contender for the Chairmanship of Abaji Area Council and Mr. Sunday Chiya – seeking first term on the Kwali Chairmanship stool. The Senate and House of Representative Candidates remained Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo and Hon. Zakari Angulu Dobi respectively.

All the traditional rulers conferred their royal blessings upon the team. In Abaji, the Traditional Ruler of the Chiefdom, and Chairman, FCT Council of Chiefs, Alh. Baba Yunusa commended Mr. President for the pervading security of life and property, reduction in the poverty level of Nigerians through improved food production and land mark achievements covering roads, rails and electricity.
