The FCT Minister Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello last Friday, performed the ground breaking for the construction of the Kafe District Market, Abuja to usher in a new dawn.

The Minister at the occasion, said when completed, the market will cater for the shopping needs of the residents of Gwarinpa I (Life-Camp), Kafe, Dape, Kado and Gwarimpa II Districts of the Federal Capital City, Abuja.

The Minister, who expressed surprise at the level of work on the project, commended the partnership that brought about the project, while looking forward to commissioning it soonest.

His words: “ I congratulate all the partners in this project, starting from the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL), the AH Properties and Construction Company as well as all the Agencies of the FCT Administration, for initiating this wonderful, magnificent project within the city. I look forward to the day we will all assemble here again to commission it”.

Speaking earlier, the Group Managing Director (GMD), Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL), Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Maina, appreciated the FCT Minister for always being supportive of the Company.

Alhaji Maina also appreciated the Minister for his unwavering support by allowing the AICL to operate fully as a limited liability company and intervenes only when the situation requires that he intervenes to support the company in achieving its objectives”.

The AICL GMD, who was represented at the occasion by the company’s Chief Coordinating Officer in charge of subsidiaries, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu said, Karfe District market is positioned to be one of the most beautiful and organized markets in the Federal Capital Territory, going by its design.
He added that upon completion, the market will have a total of 600 shops and other facilities like clinic, mobile police station, fire fighting facilities among others.

The Secretary, Economic Planning, Revenue Generation and PPP, Mr. Lukman Agboola Dabiri and other officials of the FCT Administration attended the occasion.
