PAI CHIEFDOM GETS NEW CHIEF

The Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) , Dr. Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu, has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sani Pai, as a 3rd Class Traditional Ruler of Pai Chiefdom (Sarkin Pai) in Kwali Area Council of the Territory.

The appointment of Sarkin Pai, which was contained in a letter dated August 30, 2022, enjoined the newly appointed traditional ruler to display a high sense of responsibility, maturity, and commitment.

In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Minister of State on Media, Austine Elemue, and m犀利士 ade available to Abuja Digest quoted the letter as; “I write to convey with pleasure, the approval of your appointment as a Third Class Chief of Pai, with the title, Sarkin Pai.”

“The appointment is premised on the historical tradition, resolution of the Pai Kingmakers, and the exercise of the power conferred on the Honourable Minister of Federal Capital Territory, by Section 1 of the Chiefs (Appointment and Disposition Federal Capital Territory) Act N0.8 of 1997,” the letter further stated.

In a related development, the Mandate Secretary Area Council Services Secretariat, Hon. Ibrahim Abubakar Dantsoho, while congratulating the newly appointed traditional ruler, also commended the Kingmakers for the peaceful manner throughout the selection process of the Chief of Pai.

Abuja Digest’s finding revealed that the appointment of Abubakar Sani Pai followed due process by the tradition of the people.

It will be recalled that Sarkin Pai, died recently hence the appointment of a new one.
