Perm Sec Charges Staff On Improved Service Delivery

The Permanent Secretary, Social Development Secretariat (SDS), in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Olubunmi Olowookere, has enjoined staff of the Secretariat, to renew their commitment and rededicate themselves towards improved service delivery.

Olowookere made this call while addressing the staff of the Secretariat during a ‘Self Love Fun-filled Valentine’s Celebration’ event organized by the Department of Arts and Culture in Abuja.

The Permanent Secretary said that the country is currently passing through a tough stage occasioned by the series of reforms towards achieving the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; noting that “we must learn to support and make sacrifices for the government to succeed just like Saint Valentine did before he passed-on, 14th of February, which is being celebrated across the World today”.

Olowookere emphasized the need for Staff commitment to sacrificial and diligent service delivery for the Federal Capital Territory Administration; stressing that such sacrifices reinforce the kind of true, selfless and passionate love that Saint Valentines whose day is being celebrated today signifies.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Ag. Director of Arts & Culture, Mrs. Lilian Franscisca Edoh, said that the celebration of a Special Fun-Filled Valentine Friday is meant to spread, share and merry in the spirit of St. Valentine’s Day to massage the egos and encourage the spirit of Staff amidst the challenges that staff are facing.

Her words: “You know this is Social Development Secretariat, so we must be in tune with every social event happening and ensure it is celebrated and observed in the FCT.”

Edoh urged staff to emulate the sacrificial shown of love by Valentine to deliver sacrificial service to the FCT Administration for the benefit of the residents of the Territory.
