Ango Warns Agric Secretariat Staff To Shape Up

Mandate Secretary, Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat, Comrade Abdullahi Suleiman Ango, has warned staff of the Secretariat to rededicate themselves to work for improved service delivery.
Speaking at the conclusion of his weeklong meeting with directors, heads of projects and Specialised Units, Ango emphasized the need for teamwork, and efficiency, to achieve the Secretariat’s mandate.
His words: “The work ahead demands urgency, dedication, and innovation.”
“We must all shape up and align with the vision of the FCT Administration under the leadership of the Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud,” he added.
According to him, “the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must reflect in our agricultural programmes.”
The Mandate Secretary outlined his action plan, to include an immediate assessment of abattoirs, veterinary clinics, and farm infrastructure, along with ensuring farmers receive seeds, fertilizers, and equipment before the rainy season.
He also emphasized equipping Agricultural Extension Agents with tools and training, as well as boosting Public-Private Partnerships to attract agribusiness investments in the FCT
“We cannot afford delays. Our farmers are waiting, and the nation is counting on us to boost food security,” Ango stressed.
He remarked that he expects every staff member to bring their best to the table; revealing
plans to embark on an immediate facility tour across the Area Councils engaging farmers, stakeholders, and development partners to fast-track implementation of Agricultural programmes.
Responding, staff members expressed readiness to support the new leadership; pledging to work diligently towards achieving the Secretariat’s goals.
