Join Fight Against Sexual And Gender Based Violence; Women Affairs Secretary Enjoins Nigerians

Secretary For FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi has enjoined all well meaning Nigerians to join the fight against Sexual And Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
The fight against Sexual And Gender Based Violence is better known as ‘Orange The World’
According to her, “Orange The World 16 Days Activism is not an activity for a number of Days; but a movement that should be embraced by everyone.”
The Secretary had earlier joined the Minister Of Women Affairs And Social Development, Barrister Uju Kennedy- Ohaneye , The FCT Senator, Ireti Kingibe in a Rally from Eagle’s Square to the Unity Fountain where the 16 Days of Activism was declared opened.
Benjamins-Laniyi, who spoke at length, encouraged all well meaning individuals and organizations to ensure an end to Sexual And Gender Based Violence.
The Secretary said everyone is affected by SGBV.
“The Market Women, the office Women, Grassroots Women in all the six Area Councils, and Men, Our He4She should support this movement for zero tolerance to SGBV,” she added.
The President of Women In Politics Forum ( WIPF) Barrister Ebere Efendu, who also spoke at the occasion, said Women all over Nigeria should unite and form a formidable front.
According to the WIPF President, as Women unite against Sexual And domestic violence, they should also unite against low representation in Government.
