ANCOPSS Committed To Professional Ethics – President

All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools ( ANCOPSS) will continue to uphold its professional ethics to ensure the maintenance of standards of education in the country.
The President of the ANCOPSS, Alhaji Bello Adam Gupa, gave this assurance during the 166th Congress of the organization held at Model Girls’ Junior Secondary School, AMAC Estate, Abuja.
The President said, the professional body has a major responsibility to ensuring that Professional code of conduct and ethical practices of Principals are observed in strict adherence to international standard.
Gupa explained further that the congress being held is a very important aspect of the Conferedaton activities to keep School Administrators well informed of vital information about the developments in Secondary Education and what needs to be done to enhance and improve the process of teaching and learning in the FCT.
The President reminded members of their pledge to be loyal and committed; urging them to be accountable in their day to day running of their various Schools.
He added that as public officers,they are liable to give account of stewardship at any point in time as public funds entrusted in their care should be judiciously used while in compliance to the extant laws and financial regulations .
Gupa noted with dismay the conduct of some principals when it comes to handing over to another principal; advising them to be transparent in their dealings and shun attitude that is capable of pitching them against the Authority and Administration in which they served.
The President tasked them against collecting illegal charges as the new academic session begins; stressing that every payment of charges in Schools should be limited to what has been approved by the FCT Administration through the various Boards and Departments.
He encouraged them to be of assistance to one another in their various zones when the need for help arises so that the teaching and learning system will be effective and efficient.
The ANCOPSS Leader commended the Boards and Departments for their efforts in providing the enabling learning environment to providing quality education.
He further assured that the Professional Body will not relent in its efforts to upscale the level of Education in FCT by assiduously working with all Stakeholders to actualized the goals of the Secondary Education in the Territory.
Gupa thanked the Principals for enhancing their capacity to deliver purposeful leadership through Education.
