FCT UBEB DIGITALIZES BASIC SCHOOL OPERATIONS

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT UBEB) in its quest to deliver quality and sound education to residents of the Territory, have entered into partnership with the Stable Shield Solutions and Technology Partners for the introduction of a fully digitilized School Administration system.
The introduction of the digital system will ensure smooth and computirised school management .
Acting Executive Chairman , FCT UBEB Dr. Alhassan Sule, disclosed this at the inuguration of the Basic Education Enhancement Programme (BEEP) in Abuja.
The Board Boss explained on how he made concerted effort to ensure that digital transformation becomes part of the achievements in the primary school system.
Dr. Sule pointed out that his dream has been met and expressed optimism that the integration of technology in school processes will change the entire narration of the education system in the Territory.
He maintained that societal progress lies squarely on education hence, the need for automated process.
The Chairman stressed that the FCT-BEEP initiative will set FCT education ahead of other states in the area of technology integration in basic education, which will serve as a model to other states of the federation.
Also a peaking on the occasion, the Managing Director, Stable Shield Solutions and Technology partners, Mr. Emmanuel Egenti, commended the Acting Chairman for his foresightedness and candour in initiating the project. He emphasized that the benefits of the digital transformation in FCT basic education to include but not limited to ease of operation in administration and academic processes in the basic education system.
Others include effective monitoring, evaluation of entries and management of records, Elimination of credentials falsification and identity theft as well as enhancement of the child’s future, Mr. Emmanuel noted.
He also elucidated on components of the deliverables and roadmap, which includes: Digital Admission of pupils, Transfer and Promotion, Electronic staff recruitment, Placement , transfer, Promotion, Leave and Retirement system and electronic report.
Other benefits include, generation system, Seamless staff and students/pupils ratio system, Electronic termly inventory, E- notification and E- collaborations, Electronic examination administration, E- lesson notes, Digital attendance register amongst other.
He maintained that digital process being operated is an All in one platform. It has digital access to pupils, teachers, Local Education Authorities( LEAs) and staff at the Board.
He stated that the interface was organized so that stakeholders concerned can make their input towards achieving the objectives of the project and advised the technology partner to always communicate whatever he wants to undertake in respect of the technology solutions to FCT UBEB management.
He also informed the forum that the partnership includes plan to supply laptops to all the basic schools in the FCT.
The Director of Primary School Service in the Board, Hajia Barau represented by Mallam Bashir Abubakar, commended the Service Provider for the beautiful scheme and promised to support the digitalization processes in basic schools.
She reiterated that the initiative will make the Board to stand out and be worthy of emulation by other states.
