FCT-UBEB, NGO To Train Public School Children On Conflict Management

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT-UBEB) will collaborate with 3Cs MET Mediators to train the children in public schools on conflict management and resolution.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Alhassan Sule, gave this assurance while receiving in his office members of the 3C’s MET Mediators, a Conflict and Mediation Institute based in Abuja with international Affiliations.

Dr. Sule maintained that anything that will complement the efforts of the government in delivering quality Education in FCT will be encouraged.

He said teaching school children on how to ensure peace and unity in our society is capable of developing and strengthening their education.

Dr. Sule said that it is not only about giving the children the conducive environment and ample opportunity to explore their potentials, but doctoring their psyche, inculcating in them the desired discipline to enable them eschew religious bias and ethnic hatred.

“Whatever the children acquire at this tender age stick to their minds,” he stressed.

Speaking earlier, the founder and Principal Partner of the MET Institute, Chijioke N. Ibeku revealed that members of his Institute have come to work in synergy with the management of the Board.

Ibeku stated that the team was in the Board to establish a synergy that will further pave way for them to teach the school children between the ages of five and fifteen on the conflict management and mediation skills at the early age of their lives.
