FCTA Flags Off Anti-Bullying Campaign

The  Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has flagged-off the 2024 Anti-bullying Week in schools across the Federal Capital Territoryto create awareness on the ills of the menace.

The Director, Department of Quality Assurance, Mrs.Hajarat Alayande, declared the Week open recently at Government Secondary School, and Doveland International School, a public and private schools both in Jabi District, Abuja.

According to her, the Anti-Bullying Week is aimed at conveying  the FCT Administration’s zero tolerance for bullying in all its ramifications.

The Director, stressed that the FCT Administration, under the leadership of the Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike and Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, would continue to emphasise on the importance of a level playing  field for all, and that, the FCT Administration has zero tolerance for bullying in schools and would not condone it.

Also speaking at the ocassion, the Director, Schools Services, Mrs. Magdelene Uzuonya, remarked that bullying is a constant intimidation on a weaker person that can cause severe mental disorders to the victim.

Uzuonya reaffirmed the commitment of the Authorities in the FCT Adminstration not to entertain such antisocial behaviour between staff, students, and even at home.
