FCTA Committed To Health Workers Welfare

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), is committed to the welfare of health workers in the Territory.
The Permanent Secretary, FCT Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr. Baba-Gana Adam gave this assurance, while the Executive Members of the Joint Union Action Committee, FCTA Chapter paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The Permanent Secretary reiterated that the FCT medical workers on the Administration’s employment will continue to enjoy a robust welfare to help enhance their productivity and service delivery.
Adam said that the establishment of unions in any organisation is to enable workers to come together as a powerful collective voice to communicate with management about their working terms and conditions and to push for safe, fair, and decent work environment.
He invited the Union to join in the pursuit of excellence in FCT Civil Service by becoming the monitoring eye of the government in different health establishments to ensure patient centred approach in service delivery, which is the core vision of the Administration.
This, Adam said will boost performance and bring relevant changes needed to achieve Universal Health Coverage in FCT Health Facilities.
Speaking earlier, the President, Joint Union Action Committee Comrade, Rifkatu Lortyer, said the purpose of the visit was to introduce the executive members of the union and to discuss issues relating to the medical workers under the FCT Administration.
She said JUAC is an umbrella body of affiliate unions of the FCTA that mediates between the management and staff of the administration for a harmonious working relationship as well as efficient and effective service delivery.
