FCTA Gives Youths ICT Skills For Sustainable Development

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), is equipping youths in the Federal Capital Territory with Information and Communication Technology (ICT), skills for sustainable development.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyeson Wike, stated this at the opening of a five -day training programme for 300 youths in various ICT skills in Abuja.
The ICT free training scheme was organized in collaboration with Nigeria in Diaspora organization (NIDO-Americas), as part of activities to commemorate the NIDO Worldwide week.
The training will cover all parts of information and communication technology which are digital marketing, cyber security, artificial intelligence, digital forensic and mobile application.
The Minister, who was represented at the event by the Mandate Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, FCTA Ibrahim Aminu commended NIDO-America for their commitment to the development and growth of the FCT.
Aminu, said the efforts to create a platform for engagement and knowledge exchange between the diaspora community and the FCT youths is a welcome development.
He said that the diaspora community plays essential role in enhancing socio-econimic well being, and progress of the country.
Wike urged the diaspora community to invest in infrastructure, transportation, healthcare and renewable energy, among other critical areas.

By tapping your talents and resources, we can create enduring partnership that can drive inclusive growth, ensuring job creation and improve the standard of living of our people”.
Aminu stated that the diaspora input and collaboration would play a key role in FCTA’s determination to create a more vibrant and sustainable capital city.
Earlier, Chairman America Diasporas Committee, Dr. Ezekiel Macham, explained that the NIDO Diaspora Worldwide Week was part of efforts to give back to the society.
Macham said that about 500 youths were registered for the training but only about 300 were selected for the training in the FCT.
