2025 Hajj: FCT Intending Pilgrims To Commence Material Collection

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is to distribute travelling materials to its registered intending pilgrims at the weekend.

The distribution of the traveling material is expected to commence during the forthcoming education and orientation exercise scheduled for Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February 2025 at the permanent hajj camp, Bassan Jiwa, close to Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

Accordingly, the Board has already secured the needed materials to cater for intending pilgrims, who have completed their hajj fare to participate in the exercise through the Federal Capital Territory.

Items to be distributed during the education and orientation exercise include Uniforms, literature and audio device to engage the intending pilgrims to continue with the learning of Hajj rites during the the Islamic month of Ramadan.

The Board is to go on break of activities for the intending pilgrims during the month of Ramadan to enable them have sufficient time to participate in Ramadan activities in their respective places and derive the benefit of the holy month.

The Board after the second phase of the education and orientation programme this weekend would resume full preparations for the hajj exercise after the one month fasting with third and forth phases of the education and orientation in addition to medical screening and inoculation of all intending pilgrims to ensure a hitch free spiritual journey to the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

The measures underscored the determination of the Board to ensure that intending pilgrims get the rudiments of performing hajj in order to have value for their hard-earned money paid to perform the religious obligation.

As usual, the forthcoming second phase of the orientation exercise this weekend is to be conducted in seven languages by Islamic scholars due to the peculiar nature of the FCT scheduled to take place from 8 o’clock in the morning each day.

The orientation exercise is to enable the intending pilgrims get proper enlightenment on the hajj rites as well as guidelines and new policies introduced for this year’s hajj by the Saudi authorities and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Board emphasized that “intending pilgrims who are yet to return their completed application forms or submit their international Passport should do so to enable the Board fast track the process of obtaining their travel documents in good time before the commencement of airlift to Saudi Arabia”.
