The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has advocated for unified action across all tiers of government to drive development and improve education standards in the Territory.

Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, made this call when the officials of the Federal Education Quality Assurance (FEQAS) Executives, paid him a visit in his office.

Hayyo explained that collaboration between Federal, State, and Area Councils will drive development and improve the standards of education in the
Nation’s Capital.

The Mandate Secretary stressed the importance of synergy across all levels of government, if there is going to be any meaningful progress.

His words: “We must strengthen collaborations between the Federal, State, and Area Councils to ensure the growth and development of the education sector. Synergy among all tiers is essential.”

Welcoming the FEQAS team to the FCT, he assured them of his support and urged them to come back with reports on their findings.

“We await your findings, as I am optimistic that this will lead to outcomes that can help us enhance the quality of education, ensure conducive learning environments, and promote inclusive education,” he emphasized.

Also speaking at occasion, the FCT Director, Department of Quality Assurance (DQA), Hajiya Hajarat Alayande, commended the FEQAS team and said that departmental monitors have already been attached to each inspection group to facilitate access to schools.

According to her, “the FEQAS team has been a partner to the FCT-DQA and we will continue to work together to enhance education standards across the Territory”.

On her part, the Director and Coordinating Evaluator of FEQAS, Onyeka Anyaoku, revealed that the tour’s primary goal is to ensure alignment with federal mandates rather than to intimidate or conduct witch-hunts.

“The objective is to support state initiatives and ensure that both the states and the FCT align with the federal mandate”, she added.

Abuja Digest reports that the FEQAS inspectors are set to embark on a six-week inspection tour across 104 schools within the Federal Capital Territory.
