FG Approves ₦159.5bn For FCT Projects

The Federal Government has approved a total of ₦159.5 billion for five major infrastructure projects to improve road network, transportation and access to estates across the FCT.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, disclosed this, Monday, after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to her, ₦30.97 billion was awarded for the construction of a bus terminal at Mabushi within the Federal Capital City. The project would be handled by Setraco Nig. Limitd, and completed within 18 months. ₦62.5 billion was awarded for the construction of Arterial Road N1, connecting Wuye District and Ring Road II, to be carried out by Arab Contractors Nig Ltd within 20 months.
Mahmoud said, Project for the construction of Kuje-Gwagwalada dual carriageway, awarded to Gilmor Engineering Nig. Ltd received ₦67 billion; while the one for the rehabilitation of the 15-kilometer Old Keffi Road, linking Kado Village, Dei-Dei and the Outer Northern Expressway Junction got ₦26.87 billion,
This project, which is expected for completion within 18 months, will be done by Lubric Construction Company Limited, she added.
Mahmoud also disclosed that approval was also given for Lubric to construct access road to the ‘Renewed Hope Cities and Estate Project’ within Karsana West District, Abuja, at ₦31.66 billion within 18 months.
She explained that the projects, when completed, would “enhance mobility, boost socio-economic activities, and provide improved access to residential and commercial developments within the FCT.”
The Minister of State expressed the resolve of the FCT Administration to closely monitor the projects to ensure timely delivery and compliance with standards.
