Abuja Investment Coy Boss Meets Diplomats, woos Investors To FCT

The Group Managing Detector/ Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of Abuja Investments Company Limited, (AICL), Amb. Maureen Tamuno, has called for partnership between members of the diplomatic community and the Abuja Investment Company Limited towards attracting foreign investors to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Tamuno, who said any investment in Abuja will yield high return on investment, urged Ambassadors and Heads of Missions in the Country to take advantage of the Business friendly environment of Abuja to convinced their respective citizens to invest in the Territory.
The AICL boss stated this during a pre-cocktail briefing with the diplomats on the planned Abuja Business and Investment Summit, at Dunes Center, Abuja.
She said fostering ties with members of the deplomatic corps will not only ensure the success of the summit, but would also pave way for direct foreign investment to Abuja.
She highlighted AICL’s commitment to repositioning Abuja as a leading investment hub in Africa; saying that the critical role of diplomatic missions in promoting AICL’s initiatives and investment opportunities can not be over emphasized.
The AICL boss stated that the company’s drive for foreign direct investment is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ aimed at opening up the country for foreign investments.
Her words: “Abuja is a place to invest in. We are ready to collaborate with missions and partner with organizations, our environment is conducive and favorable enough with business opportunities.”
Accordingly, the pre-summit event served as a platform for ambassadors to explore collaborative opportunities with AICL and contribute to Abuja’s economic advancement through strategic partnerships.
She lauded the efforts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, in enhancing Abuja’s infrastructure, thereby creating an optimal environment for business prosperity.
Tamuno stressed that the upcoming Abuja Business and Investment Summit scheduled to hold between 16th-18th of October 2024, with the theme “Optimising Investment Through Partnership” will showcase the liberalized business environment of Abuja.
In his remarks, the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, represented by the FCT Head of Civil Service, Mr. Udo Samuel Atang, noted the importance of the diplomatic community in promoting economic prosperity and assured of the Administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business to grow in the Territory.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, commended Amb. Maureen Tamuno, for the noble initiative, pledging her support towards the success of the forthcoming event.
Earlier, the Dean of the diplomatic corp and the High Commissioner of Cameroon to Nigeria, Ambassador Salaheddine Abbas, expressed optimism about the future projects under the leadership of Nyesom Wike and encouraged collaboration with AICL.
He promised full support of the diplomatic community to the project.
